Bye Nails

I'd very much love to get a manicure done and the last time I had one was before my wedding day in 2004.

Along came Baileys. And then Maen.

They were so tiny and fragile and their paw pads were smoother than my own skin back then. I couldn't keep my nails long because I do not want to poke or scratch them (but they do more damage to themselves when they fight...)

Nail polishes were impossible because I don't want them to lick me and get poisoned. Or risk bits of these polishes flaking off into their food without me knowing.

With human kids, it's the same.

I can tell when it's time to trim my nails when I see scratch marks on the little ones' body after I shower them.

AN looked like she got attacked by an animal yesterday after her shower. Disclaimer: I didn't attack her on purpose!

Today, these nails have to go.

Maybe when I do not need to shower them anymore, I can go for a manicure.

Or maybe I can get AN to do it for me (she's been asking me to go for one because she REALLY wants to see how it's done. She's been watching tutorials on YouTube and dying to try them on me.)

Dolling Up Our Princess

We had some disagreements on Monday when shopping for her dress. I told her that she has to like what she chose and I wanted her to tell me exactly which dress she liked best. Then, both Mr Liow and I thought she looked better in this:
We left without buying anything that day because we couldn't agree with her. I felt bad that she didn't get to choose what she liked and promised her I would do something about it.

Along the way, Mr liow managed to convince her and she agreed to buy the purple one that we (adults) liked. I didn't want to break my promise and asked her repeatedly, which dress she preferred and I wanted the truth because daddy and mummy wants her to be happy.

She went: "I want the purple one but I like the pink (lavender, not pink) one a lot."
We did win the battle with some bribing but when I spoke to daddy about respecting her choice, he agreed that she gets to choose :)

She was so grateful and excited that we agreed to get her the one she liked and we went back to get it the next evening.

She refused to be flowergirl though. She said she's scared, so we didn't persist.

She's all excited about tomorrow, as if it's going to be her big day!

As long as she's happy, we are too ;)

Little princess got her finger nails done for her ah gu's wedding celebration tomorrow. We have a very excited one here!

Her painted toenails are protected, by socks while she sleeps. Hehe.

Nail Polish

Got the "Clouds of Candy" blue shimmery polish for AN because she had stopped the nail biting for a long time now. It's a good excuse to pamper her (something I have almost stopped doing since ER's birth. No good!)

She couldn't decide which to choose online, so I brought her to Kiddy Palace to choose. OMG...it's $7 more costly in the store than online!

Told her she can choose only one and she made me choose because she "loves every single colour it's so hard to pick only one."

This is a lovely shade of shimmery blue that looks silver under the yellow lighting at home and in pictures.

She's so happy with her painted nails she just can NOT stop looking at them.

Even as she was reading her storybooks before bedtime, she was so distracted. And she was honest about it:

"Mummy, you have to help me point to the words. I can't point to them today because my nails are so pretty I cannot stop looking at them."

Lol.

She has no school tomorrow, so my princess gets to keep the painted nails through weekend.

Happy like a bird.

*Note to self: I'll order online as recommended by M&M Mama in future. $7 difference in price is a lot leh!
