Been 3 weeks since AN first fell sick and she is finally coughing less. Thank God!
Our worst fear did not happen this time round: we had been warned that if ER caught AN's virus, being young, his symptoms may escalate into bronchitis. He did catch it (we couldn't keep AN away. She forgets and kisses him every now and then).
By His mercy, the Lord kept our little boy safe. The virus made him uncomfortable and he could neither nurse nor sleep well. But he recovered relatively fast and his symptoms did not worsen! Took him about a week, maybe a few days more, and he was well again. Power of breastmilk.
AN was actually better about a week ago. It's my fault I allowed her to have sugary drinks. That same night onwards, her cough came back. Her runny nose recovered few days after I posted that it bled.
She's starting to cough less now. *phew*
Mr Liow almost succumbed to the virus but he overcame it in no time and recovered in less than a week.
As for me, I had a day of headache, tucked in early, and recovered the next morning.
Thank God for healing the family. There are a few more friends and their babies who are fighting the virus at this point. Praying that the Lord will strengthen their bodies to fight off that pesty virus soon and then we can bid it good riddance.
AN knows being sick is no fun and reminds her daddy not to share her food or even kiss her if he appears to be sniffing (he has sinus problems and sniffs a lot most mornings. Not contagious though). And she said she did not share her biscuits with her friends because she too, is still sick. She said she told them she will bring more to share with them after she recovers.
Now that they are well again (AN, almost), I'm fearful it will come back :( Nursing sick children can be really draining, given that sick children are usually crankier.
Please, whatever stubborn virus you are, leave all of us alone. We will grow stronger and will not fall prey to you anymore.
