Big milestone

ER was on his back but flipped to his belly because he didn't want to sleep. He had been trying for about few weeks to push himself up so that he rocks on palms and knees without success. He finally did it today. He didn't just rock, he balanced himself and sat himself down on his butt.

Another one big achievement!

Got to go. He's shifting towards his sleeping sister now. This boy doesn't need to crawl to get around....

  1. Great job Ethan! It's always so exciting seeing our little one reaching various milestones! I was cheering Ayden last month for finally flipping himself and before I knew it, he keep flipping now at 6 mths old non stop. During changing diaper, changing clothes etc. Very hard to keep him still. He wants to sit up to kpo around else will keep fussing n whining!

We just started cereals! He hates Bellamy white rice but loves Healthy Times brown rice. He hates sweet purees like apple, pear. So far sweet potato seems kinda ok. Have not try green veges though. Feeding time is not as fun as I thought haha! It gets so messy!

  2. Ethan loves Bellamy white rice! that's probably the one cereals that he can finish and opens his mouth wide for. But it's not easily available..been looking high and low for it but it's always oos. Got him the apple and cinnamon one since he finished some others (or rather, he did'n like and I finished them for him. I love bb cereals).

Yes it's super messy right? When BM were around, they'd help me like up what AN used to somehow spurt onto the floor :)

  3. Yeah Bellamy is always oos! I bought my first 2 packs fr an organic shop at city square mall. Subsequently saw them occasionally at big ntucs like the one in NEX but always got snatched up fast.

Barley gets to eat whatever purees Ayden rejected. U know, I bought the Avent steamer cum blender but hv not used it yet! I started Ayden on jarred purees cos I thought I could see what he likes first then I go make purees in batches etc. But he only likes pea puree so far n pea puree is hard to make with the shells and all! And I think peas come mostly in frozen packs so can't refreeze again after cooking and blending right? Sigh! I think I hv a fussy eater on hand also! Coincidentally those food he hates are those that I had an aversion with during my pregnancy leh. I loved peas n brown rice also then! Funny hor??

Btw can I ask what teething biscuit u recommend? I've tried Heinz teething pegs, the super hard one but Ayden tends to push the biscuit too far into his mouth n then gags. Also it's too hard to even eat. He throws it on the floor n so Barley gets to chew happily on it. Tried the Pigeon biscuit, not too bad but made in JAPAN n contains seaweed. U get wat I mean lah. Baby Bites r popular but made in CHINA........ Or am I just worrying too much? LOL.

  4. I only bought once and haven't found the white rice one since he finished it. The Apple and Cinnamon one quite nice!! 'm surprised they actually have such an exotic combi of cereals for babies and the slight hint of cinnamon makes the cereals so tasty! I had been finishing what he couldn't finish (after adding sugar for my own taste buds.)

I used to puree and freeze green peas for AN but you are right! I don't think can refreeze. I totally forgot the rule! But you can make single portions without pureeing with blender. Use a strainer and scrub the green peas through the little holes after you steamed the peas. The skin doesn't pass through and you get as much as you need.

AN inherited my eating habits and style. She loves veges and drinks most soups to the last drop, and rojak, and spicy stuff. Guess your Ayden too!

Teething biscuits won't be eaten up as far as I'm aware. hee. That's the safe thing abt it, so they don't choke. it's for them to learn to self feed.

I bought teething biscuits from Heinze and Bellamy..doesn't taste any different and both are as hard, only diff shape. ER ends up throwing barely chewed on sticks on the floor too so I'm not going to get any more for him. Waste money, and very messy. hehe. I bought tons of Pigeon biscuits though (the little mantou, the baby bites looking biscuits and...practially the whole range, coz those he can really EAT). I know what you mean about them coming from Jap. But I trust our HSA, AVA or whatever A (not the animal licensing dept of AVA...that one I totally don't trust).
